Remarks by President Donald Tusk after the meeting of the EU heads of state or government with Turkey

Today, we have finally reached an agreement between the EU and Turkey. An agreement aimed at stopping the flow of irregular migration via Turkey to Europe.

Let me mention key elements that allowed us to reach this agreement in the last days and hours: 

First, we needed to ensure that each and every migrant arriving in Europe will be treated individually. In other words that our agreement complies with all EU and international laws.

Το Κέντρο Μελετών και Εκπαίδευσης Χρηματοοικονομικής (ΚΕΜΕΧ) και το Εργαστήριο Επενδυτικών Εφαρμογών (ΕΠΕΦΑ) του Τμήματος Οικονομικών Επιστημών του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, ανακοινώνουν την έναρξη νέου προγράμματος εξ αποστάσεως εκπαίδευσης με τίτλο «4η Ευρωπαϊκή Οδηγία κατά του Ξεπλύματος Βρώμικου Χρήματος και της Χρηματοδότησης της Τρομοκρατίας», στις 11 Απριλίου 2016. 

Η μεγάλη μείωση των καταθέσεων της περιόδου, η εκποίηση περιουσιακών στοιχείων και η συσσώρευση ληξιπρόθεσμων οφειλών προς την εφορία είναι οι συνηθέστερες μέθοδοι που χρησιμοποιήθηκαν από τα νοικοκυριά για να στηρίξουν τη μειούμενη κατανάλωσή τους....ΣΕΒ

Διαθέσιμο εισόδημα, φόροι και αποταμίευση

Η μεγάλη ύφεση των τελευταίων χρόνων, ως αποτέλεσμα της δημοσιονομικής προσαρμογής που ακολούθησε την εφαρμογή των Μνημονίων, οδήγησε σε σημαντική μείωση του διαθέσιμου εισοδήματος και της τελικής κατανάλωσης των νοικοκυριών (Διάγραμμα 1).

 Ως νοικοκυριά στην ανάλυση αυτή, λογίζονται οι οικογένειες που έχουν εισοδήματα από εξαρτημένη εργασία (μισθωτοί) καθώς και όσοι έχουν εισοδήματα από ατομικές επιχειρήσεις και ελευθέρια επαγγέλματα. Ως ήταν φυσικό, τα νοικοκυριά προσπάθησαν να κρατήσουν την κατανάλωση σε όσο το δυνατόν υψηλότερο επίπεδο, μειώνοντας την αποταμίευσή τους.

EU-Turkey statement, 18 March 2016

Today the Members of the European Council met with their Turkish counterpart. This was the third meeting since November 2015 dedicated to deepening Turkey-EU relations as well as addressing the migration crisis.

The Members of the European Council expressed their deepest condolences to the people of Turkey following the bomb attack in Ankara on Sunday. They strongly condemned this heinous act and reiterated their continued support to fight terrorism in all its forms.

Fourth quarter of 2015 Euro area job vacancy rate up to 1.6% EU28 rate up to 1.7% 

The job vacancy rate in the euro area (EA19) was 1.6% in the fourth quarter of 2015, up from 1.5% in the previous quarter and the fourth quarter of 2014, according to figures published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. The job vacancy rate in the EU28 was 1.7% in the fourth quarter of 2015, up from 1.6% in the previous quarter and the fourth quarter of 2014.

In the euro area and the EU28, the job vacancy rate in the fourth quarter of 2015 was 1.2% in industry and construction, and 2.0% in services.
