Press Release - 22/2018 - 31 January 2018 - December 2017 Euro area unemployment at 8.7% EU28 at 7.3% 

The euro area (EA19) seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 8.7% in December 2017, stable compared to November 2017 and down from 9.7% in December 2016. This remains the lowest rate recorded in the euro area since January 2009.

The US Treasury yield curve flattened considerably last year, reducing the spread between ten-year and two-year US Treasury yields to less than 60 basis points. When Alan Greenspan first referred to a bond market “conundrum” in 2005, the spread was around 80 basis points.[1] In the euro area, by contrast, the term spread remained broadly unchanged last year.

Στις 26 Ιανουαρίου 2018, η EBA απέστειλε επιστολή στην Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή όσον αφορά τα ρυθμιστικά τεχνικά πρότυπα (‘RTS’) «για την αυστηρή εξακρίβωση της ταυτότητας του πελάτη και τα κοινά και ασφαλή πρότυπα επικοινωνίας» (“strong customer authentication and common and secure open standards of communication”) στο πλαίσιο της νέας Οδηγίας για τις Υπηρεσίες Πληρωμών (‘PSD 2’).

Την Τετάρτη 31 Ιανουαρίου 2018, το Ελληνικό Δημόσιο θα προχωρήσει στην έκδοση εντόκων γραμματίων 26 εβδομάδων. Η έκδοση θα γίνει με δημοπρασία στην οποία συμμετέχουν οι Βασικοί Διαπραγματευτές των τίτλων του Ελληνικού Δημοσίου. Ως ημερομηνία διακανονισμού έχει οριστεί η Παρασκευή 2 Φεβρουαρίου 2018 (Τ+2).
