Press Release - 20 Feb. 2018 - COUNCIL CONCLUSIONS ON THE BUDGET GUIDELINES FOR 2019 

Introduction 

1. The Council considers that the budget for 2019 should ensure prudent budgeting and provide adequate resources to support clearly set priorities, while leaving sufficient margins under the ceilings. The EU budget should seek to boost growth, promote employment and create new jobs, enhance effective EU cohesion and agriculture, foster competitiveness and tackle the internal and external dimension of the migration, security challenges and protection of the external borders.

Δελτίο Τύπου - 20 Φεβρουαρίου 2018 - Η εμπλοκή στο EUROGROUP και η κρίση στις αγορές αυξάνει το ρίσκο «ΚΑΘΑΡΗΣ ΕΞΟΔΟΥ» της Ελλάδας - ΕΣΕΕ

Προβληματισμός υπήρξε στο Eurogroup της 19ης Φεβρουαρίου με αποτέλεσμα τη καθυστέρηση της εκταμίευσης των 5,7 δις ευρώ από τη συνολική τέταρτη δόση των 6,7 δις ευρώ της τρίτης αξιολόγησης. Η ερμηνεία της έκθεσης συμμόρφωσης από τη Κομισιόν, την ΕΚΤ και την ΕΕ για την «επιτυχή εκπλήρωση» των δύο τελευταίων προαπαιτουμένων αναφορικά με τους ηλεκτρονικούς πλειστηριασμούς και την επένδυση του Ελληνικού, πάγωσε τις διαδικασίες εκταμίευσης και οδήγησε σε μία απόφαση επί της αρχής.

According to Bundesbank estimates, the German economy is booming. The latest issue of the Monthly Report states that aggregate economic performance surpassed potential output by a considerable margin in the first three quarters of 2017. Economic output also saw large gains in the last quarter, although with slightly less momentum than before.

Good evening, let me add a few words from the perspective of the ESM. First on Greece, and as you heard, we had a meeting of the Board of Governors of the ESM to adopt the Supplemental Memorandum of Understanding for Greece. The Board of Governors is composed of the 19 euro area finance ministers, so it’s the same group but they change their hats. It is the highest decision-making body of the ESM. The Governors’ decision today was necessary so that the Commission can sign the Supplemental MoU on behalf of the ESM. And this is one important step towards the disbursement of the fourth tranche of €6.7 billion under the ESM programme.
