EXECUTIVE SUMMARY 

Despite strong growth over the past two decades, income inequality remains high in many low-income developing countries (LIDCs). As shown by earlier work, including by the IMF, high levels of inequality can impair both the future pace and the sustainability of growth and macroeconomic stability, thereby also limiting countries’ ability to reach the Sustainable Development Goals.

Πριν από ενάμισι χρόνο περίπου, ο ΣΕΒ μίλησε για την ανάγκη ενός επενδυτικού σοκ €100 δις ως προϋπόθεση ανάκαμψης της οικονομίας. Σήμερα, μετά από μία επταετία παλινδρομήσεων στην εφαρμογή του προγράμματος προσαρμογής -που ως τακτική οδηγεί de facto σε διαρκείς παρατάσεις του- πιστεύουμε ότι η χώρα, για να ξεκολλήσει και να φύγει προς τα εμπρός, χρειάζεται επιτακτικά πέρα από τις ξένες καλές πρακτικές που απρόθυμα εφαρμόζουμε, ένα σοκ αξιοπιστίας. 

EU Economy - Growth in the euro area is firming and broadering in many countries -for the first time since the crisis all euro area Member States are forecast to grow again. Of course there are risks: risks from the inside relating to political instability or possible instability, and risks from the outside related to a new government in the US and the BREXIT

Good evening and welcome to this Eurogroup press conference. Today we welcomed to the Eurogroup the new Minister of Finance of Lithuania, Vilius Šapoka, who informed us of the new government's plan and priorities; we also welcomed Sabine Lautenschläger, Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM). She came in specially to talk about the report of the European Court of Auditors on the FSM.

Μετά την χθεσινή ισχυρή ανοδική αντίδραση , κυρίως από τις Τραπεζικές μετοχές ... αλλαγή σκηνικού σήμερα υπό το βάρος της διεξαγωγής ενός ακόμα Eurogroup  με τις Ελληνικές θέσεις αίολες αναζητώντας μία πολιτική λύση, με τους κινδύνους για μία ακόμα φορά να πλανώνται πάνω από μία αμφίβολη οικονομική πολιτική.  Μετά από συνεχείς εναλλαγές προσήμου ... χαρακτηριστικό της νευρικότητας που επικράτησε στην σημερινή συνεδρίαση, με οριακά κέρδη + 0,52% στα 1,92 ολοκλήρωσε η ALPHA BANK , ενώ με απώλειες - 3,65% στα 0,211 το κλείσιμο για την Τράπεζα ΠΕΙΡΑΙΩΣ ..

Οι τιμές κινούνται πάνω από την Διαγώνια στήριξη και πάνω από  το Kumo του σύννεφου ichimoku παραμένοντας bullish σε βραχυπρόθεσμο επίπεδο ... Ο γρήγορος ταλαντωτής Chikou Span ( πράσινη γραμμή ) μετά από συνεχείς εναλλαγές στα παρόντα επίπεδα, έχει δώσει πρόσκαιρη ανοδική γωνία απόκλισης, .. Ο δείκτης όμως fast stochastic μας δίνει αρνητική γωνία   απόκλισης, με πιθανό σήμα εξόδου  ...  

USA - U.S. crude oil imports averaged over 7.8 million barrels per day last week, down by 568,000 barrels per day from the previous week..- eia

Press Release - Weekly Petroleum Status Report

U.S. crude oil refinery inputs averaged over 16.0 million barrels per day during the week ending January 20, 2017, 421,000 barrels per day less than the previous week’s average. Refineries operated at 88.3% of their operable capacity last week. Gasoline production decreased last week, averaging over 8.8 million barrels per day. Distillate fuel production decreased last week, averaging 4.6 million barrels per day.

Greek Economy - The approval of the measures was delayed in December, when the Greek government decided on a number of budget expenditures without previous discussion with the institutions. The approval process resumed after the Eurogroup received a letter from Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos, which made clear that Greece remained fully committed to programme conditionality. - ESM

1. When was it decided that Greece would receive short-term debt relief measures?

In its statement of 25 May 2016, the Eurogroup mandated the ESM to work on a first set of debt relief measures, referred to as short-term measures. The ministers said that these measures would be implemented after the closure of the first review and before the end of the current ESM programme (the third programme). The first review has since been concluded. On 5 December 2016, the ESM presented detailed plans for the short-term measures to the Eurogroup, which agreed to adopt them.

On January 23, the governing bodies of the ESM and of the EFSF formally completed the approval process of the measures, and implementation will now start.
