In March 2016 the current account of the euro area recorded a surplus of €27.3 billion.[1]

In the financial account, combined direct and portfolio investment recorded increases of €74 billion in assets and €52 billion in liabilities.

Russia - Yet the recession is extending into 2016, with the economy expected to contract by about 1½ % due to lower oil prices, weak household income growth, and fiscal consolidation. With oil prices expected to stabilize and domestic financial conditions to ease, the economy is projected to start growing again in 2017 by about 1%... IMF

Και ειλικρινά λυπάμαι πολύ που η ομιλία του Νίκου Θεοχαράκη πριν από τη δική μου ήταν ένα τέτοιο παράδειγμα κομματικοποιημένης πολιτικής, αφού χρημάτισα κι εγώ υπουργός Οικονομικών στην κυβέρνηση την οποία χαρακτήρισε σχεδόν αποικιοκρατική στην κομματικοποιημένη ομιλία του. Ωστόσο, δεν μπόρεσε να παραδεχθεί ότι οι «γενναίες διαπραγματεύσεις» που διεξήγαγε μαζί με τον Γιάνη Βαρουφάκη, οι οποίες οδήγησαν στην αλλαγή του ονόματος από τρόικα σε θεσμούς, και μετακίνησε την τρόικα από τα υπουργεία στο Χίλτον είχαν επίσης ένα κόστος. Αν υποθέσουμε ότι αυτό που περιέγραψε ήταν τα οφέλη, το κόστος βεβαίως ανήλθε σε 86 δισεκ. ευρώ: Αυτό ήταν το τρίτο μνημόνιο και οι περιορισμοί στην κίνηση κεφαλαίων που επιβλήθηκαν μετά από εκροές καταθέσεων ύψους 45 δισεκ. ευρώ. Και αυτοί οι περιορισμοί στην κίνηση κεφαλαίων επιβλήθηκαν για να διαφυλάξουν τη χρηματοπιστωτική σταθερότητα υστέρα από τις «γενναίες διαπραγματεύσεις» του κ. Θεοχαράκη και του κ. Βαρουφάκη. So just to be clear, again for those who perhaps don't follow it so closely, Greece is not currently under a program with the IMF, though we have been and continue to be fully engaged in the discussions. And of course, many are interested, including in this room, in the IMF. And when a decision might be made on a further program, and that decision, of course I need to emphasize, would be taken by our executive board.
