USA - Real average hourly earnings for all private sector employees increased 0.8 percent, seasonally adjusted, from November 2015 to November 2016 .. - BLS

NEWS Release -  Real hourly earnings increased 0.8 percent over the year ending November 2016 DECEMBER 20, 2016



Real average hourly earnings for all private sector employees increased 0.8 percent, seasonally adjusted, from November 2015 to November 2016. 

This increase in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.3-percent decrease in the average workweek resulted in a 0.5-percent increase in real average weekly earnings over the past year.



From November 2015 to November 2016, real average hourly earnings for production or nonsupervisory workers increased 0.9 percent, seasonally adjusted. This increase in real average hourly earnings combined with a 0.3-percent decrease in the average workweek resulted in a 0.5-percent increase in real average weekly earnings over the year.

The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) is used to adjust earnings for all employees for inflation; the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers (CPI-W) is used to adjust earnings for production and nonsupervisory employees.
